WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie in their non-conference finale against Queens College on Tuesday evening on Normand R. Marois '57 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first half, neither side could establish much offense, as both back lines were strong early. Assumption had a great chance in the 23
rd minute, as
Brooke Zanella and
Lilina Shiers had scoring opportunities, but were unable to find the back of the net. Minutes later,
Isabella Provost recorded her first save of the afternoon, as she stopped Ava Lekanides' shot in the 26
th minute. The rest of the first half remained quiet, as Queens had a slight edge in shots, 5-4, and had both corners.
In the second half, the Greyhounds would go on top in the 70
th minute, as
Rose Connolly fed
Elle Bristol in the box and was able to score with a strike to the near low corner for her first of the year. Queens would find the equalizer a few minutes later as Kylie Dowler scored in the 76
th minute. Neither team would score in the final 14 minutes, and the game would end in a tie.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Isabella Provost logged nine saves in net for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Queens 16-13, while also having a 6-2 edge in corner kicks.
