SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team completed the weekend sweep of Saint Michael's College 5-0 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption carried their momentum from last night's 6-1 win into the first period of their Saturday matinee, as
Ava McGaffigan scored the opening goal at 7:50 of the first period. The Greyhounds' lead would double just halfway through the second period, as Justina Valintini scored on a power play.
Kayla McGaffigan extended the Hounds' advantage to 3-0 right before the end of the second, as she scored on a tipped shot by
Kaitlyn Cielo.
Natalie Joiner pushed the Assumption lead to 4-0 with 6:51 left in regulation, as she recorded her fourth goal of the season, before Kayla McGaffian netted her second of the game, making it 5-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Leila Fournier recorded 23 saves in her first collegiate win.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 60-23, while also winning 36-of-56 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds went 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Purple Knights were 0-for-1.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 9-0-1
