WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team rallied from down two goals in the third period to send the game to overtime, but they would eventually fall to Saint Anselm College in overtime 4-3, in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action, Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

Records: Greyhounds (7-7-1. 7-3-1 NEWHA) | Hawks (10-6-0, 10-1-0 NEWHA)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Saint Anselm was the first team to get on the board, as Taylor Buckley scored at 14:13 of the first period. Caroline Lilly tied the game for Assumption just over a minute later, as she flipped in the rebound. The Hawks retook control of the game with two goals in the second period to go up 3-1 after 40 minutes.
The Greyhounds would not go quietly, as Alexi Kirkeby got Assumption within one with an unassisted goal at 3:20 of the frame. Just before the halfway mark of the third period, Caroline Lilly found the equalizer, as she scored off the rebounded shot of
Justina Valentini. The game would go into overtime, where Brooklyn Schneiderhan scored the game-winner for the Hawks with 1:46 left in OT.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded a season-high 52 saves.
- Saint Anselm outshot Assumption 55-50, while the Greyhounds won the faceoff battle 37-26.
- Neither team scored on the power play; Assumption went 0-3, while Saint Anselm was 0-for-2.
- The Greyhounds blocked 12 shots compared to six for the Hawks.
- Saint Anselm leads the all-time series 6-2-1
