NORTH ANDOVER, Mass - The Assumption University women's ice hockey team dropped their fourth-straight contest, as they fell to Merrimack College 4-1 in non-conference action, Sunday afternoon at Lawler Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to strike, as Caroline Lilly opened the scoring at 14:55 of the first period, with
Kayla McGaffigan and
Justina Valentini picking up the helpers on the play. Merrimack responded with two goals within 13 seconds at the tail end of the frame, with Maria Lindberg and Olivia Grabianowski finding the back of the cage for the Warriors.
After a scoreless second period, the hosts struck again with two goals in the third period, with Hailey Eikos scoring on the power play and Neely Hawn scoring while at even strength.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 27 saves in the loss.
- Merrimack outshot Assumption 31-19, while winning 29-of-47 faceoffs.
- The Warriors went 1-for-4 on the power play, while the Greyhounds did not have an opportunity.
- Merrimack now leads the all-time series 1-0-0.
