WORCESTER, Mass.– The Assumption University women's soccer team dropped the final game of the regular season, as the Greyhounds fell to Saint Michael's College 2-0 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Wednesday afternoon at Normand R. Marois '57 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the first half, neither team could generate any consistent offense, but Assumption held a 6-3 edge in shots in the opening 45 minutes. Saint Michael's College's best scoring chance came in the 21
st minute, when Scarlett Brookes hit a post before
Shannon Fitzsimmons turned aside Lola Follansbee's follow-up shot.
Saint Michael's was the first team to get on the scoreboard, as Bella Delvecchio served up a free kick outside the box, which was knocked off the crossbar by the Assumption goalkeeper, and Sam McDonough headed the ball into the back of the net in the 67
th minute. The Purple Knights doubled their lead with 3:54 left in regulation, as Delvecchio served up a corner kick, and Julia Palmese headed inside the back post.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Isabella Provost recorded seven saves for the Hounds.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 13-10, while also having a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
