MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Assumption University field hockey team was well represented on the Northeast 10 Conference field hockey all-conference lists as the Greyhounds earned 11 awards, announced Wednesday afternoon.
Mieke Rentsch brought home three honors following her stellar freshman campaign, as she was named the Northeast 10 Conference Rookie of the Year, while adding All-NE10 Second Team and All-Rookie team to her resume. In 18 games, the German product recorded five goals and added eight assists for 18 points. She had multi-goal outings vs Southern Connecticut and Franklin Pierce. Both goals were game winners.
Head Coach
Annie Lahey took home her third NE10 Coach of the Year award, as she led the Greyhounds to a 12-5 regular season, including going 11-1 in league play. Under her leadership, Assumption will host their third straight NE10 Semifinals and has reached the league's final four seven times in the last eight seasons.
Assumption saw three players make their way on the All-NE10 First Team, as
Paige Gillette, Jillian McSorely, and
Elle Murray took home the honor. Gillette earned her first All-NE10 First Team honor, having been named to the All-Conference second team the previous season. The 2025 campaign has been the best for the Graduate Student, as she has compiled a 13-5 overall record, while supporting career-highs in both goals-against average (0.72) and save percentage (0.845).
Jillian McSorley also took home her first All-NE10 First Team honor, as she headlines the top defense in the Northeast 10, as the Greyhounds allowed 0.72 goals per game. In conference action, the defense held the opposition to just a 0.55 goals-against average and just 46 total shots. McSorley appeared in 11 games, while also recording one defensive save. Murray capped off her senior season by tying a career-high 12 goals, while adding four assists for a team-leading 28 points. She tallied three game-winning goals this season (American International, Bentley, and Pace).
Julia Carbone joined Rentsch on the All-NE10 Second Team, as she recorded seven goals and a career-high eight assists. She was named the NE10 Player of the Week following her two goals and two assists against Molloy.
Racquel Provost,
Nova Rijks, and
Taylor Tory all made their way onto the All-NE10 Third Team. Provost started all 18 games on the backline for the Hounds. While First Teamer
Jillian McSorley was out, Provost filled in and held the opposition to seven goals over seven games. Rijks took a massive step in her second season in Worcester, scoring six goals and adding three assists. She was a perfect two-for-two on penalty strokes, while adding one game-winning goal at Saint Michael's College. Tory took a massive step in her junior season, as she established new career highs in goals (3), assists (8), and points (14), while also scoring her first career game-winning goal against Saint Anselm in a 1-0 win against the defending national champions.
The top-seeded Greyhounds will host No. 4 Bentley University in the Northeast-10 Conference Semifinals on Friday, November 7, at 7:00 pm.
