WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team got back in the win column on Saturday afternoon, as the Greyhounds shut out Stonehill College, 3-0 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to score, as
Justina Valentini had a nice deck move on the goal mouth to score the opening goal, 1:04 into the contest. The Greyhound added to their lead halfway through the game, as
Natalie Joiner won a puck battle behind the Stonehill goal, and passed it back to
Kaitlyn Cielo at the point, where her wrist shot snuck past the Skyhawks' netminder. Early into the third period,
Jodie Gratton forced a turnover at the Stonehill blueline, where Joiner picked up the loose puck and beat the opposing netminder, stick side.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser recorded 32 saves for her second shutout of the year.
- Stonehill outshot Assumption 32-25, while also winning 29-of-54 faceoffs.
- Neither team scored on the power play, as the Skyhawks went 0-for-4 and the Hounds went 0-for-2.
- Stonehill still leads the all-time series 7-4-1.
