MANCHESTER, N.H.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team gave up three unanswered goals, as they fell to Saint Anselm College 4-2 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Tuesday evening at Sullivan Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption started fast, as they fired the first seven shots of the game. The Greyhounds were the first team to strike, as
Jake Russell connected on a breakout pass to
Jamison Alicandro, who had a drop pass to
Daniel Lemanski, who beat the Saint Anselm netminder to the blocker side at 15:25 of the opening period.
Saint Anselm tied the game at 6:39 of the second period, as Keaton Richards scored with Sean Connolly picking up the assist. The Greyhounds regained the lead with 3:41 left in the middle stanza, as
Jonathan Surrette went coast-to-coast, before slipping a drop pass to
Leo Piandes, who one-timed it past the netminder. The Hawks tied the game once again as Luke Linart scored with 47 seconds remaining in the frame.
The hosts took their first lead of the game, as Nolan King scored at 1:17 into the third period. The Hawks doubled their lead with 8:49 remaining in regulation, as Justin Tremblay forced a turnover at the blue line and scored on a wrist shot on a breakaway. Down by two goals, Assumption pulled their goaltender with 2:19 remaining in regulation, but they could not cut into the deficit and fell 4-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Salvatore logged 27 saves in the loss.
- Assumption outshot Saint Anselm 56-51, while the Hawks had 31 shots on goal compared to 28 for the Greyhounds.
- Neither team scored on the power play, as both sides went 0-for-3.
- Saint Anselm leads the all-time series 39-18-3
