WORCESTER, Mass. —The Assumption University women's basketball team started fast and had a wire-to-wire 86-40 win over Dominican University of New York in non-conference action, Saturday afternoon inside Andrew Laska Gymnasium.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption came out playing their best basketball early, as they raced out to a 19-2 lead 5:45 into the contest. After Dominican scored back-to-back buckets, the Greyhounds closed out the first quarter on a 10-1 run with
Teagan Curran leading the way with four points. The Hounds continued to see their lead expand throughout the first half, as they led 46-16 at the break, with the two Teagans leading the way, with Curran with 11 and
Teagan Kamm with eight.
Coming out of the break, the Greyhounds went on a 10-4 run to begin the frame to a 56-20 lead with 3:34 to go in the third quarter. Dominican started to see shots fall in the later part of the third, as they closed out the frame on a 9-3 run, led by Ketura Rutty with seven. The Blue and White would pull away in the fourth quarter, shooting 52.6 percent in the stanza and outscoring the Chargers 27-11 for an 86-40 win.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Teagan Curran led four Greyhounds in double-digits with 17 points, while Teagan Kamm (15) and Maeve Moriarty (12) both had career-highs.
- Assumption outshot Dominican 49.1 percent from the field, while holding the opposition to just 24.1 percent.
- The Hounds outrebounded the Chargers 47-39, while also doubling the opponent up in the paint (40-20).
- That was the fewest points Assumption has allowed since giving up 36 to American International College on Feb. 19, 2025.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 10-0.
