MARLBOROUGH, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team continued their playoff push, as the Greyhounds dispatched Post University 3-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action, Tuesday afternoon at the New England Sports Center.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to find the back of the net, as
Jake DiNapoli scored in the final minute of the first period. DiNapoli was able to roof the puck as he redirected the shot from the point by
John Woernle. The Greyhounds would have to wait until seven minutes into the second period, as
Ronny Paragallo scored on a power play, doubling the host's advantage.
The Hounds would carry the 2-0 lead into the third period, but Post wouldn't have to wait too long to get on the board in the third period, as Bradley McMains sniped a wrist shot, beating the Assumption netminder to the high glove side.
Jonathan Surrette added a three-quarters ice empty net goal to secure the win for the hosts with 2:18 remaining in regulation.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Thomas McLarnon recorded 45 saves between the pipes for the Greyhounds.
- Post outshot Assumption 46-31, while the Hounds won 36-of-60 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds were the only team to score on the powerplay, as they went 1-for-4, while the Eagles were scoreless on two attempts.
- Assumption still leads the all-time series 21-5-1.
