SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team went up 1-0, but would eventually allow five unanswered goals, as they would fall 5-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Greyhounds got on the board early when Freshman,
Declan Chapman buried a chance setup by
Daniel Lemanski and
Shane McElhaney exactly 100 seconds into the action. Assumption's lead was short-lived, as Saint Mike's leveled the game minutes later when Brennan McFarland scored his first of the night at 04:07. Just 38 seconds later, Roman Winicki gave the Purple Knights the lead.
There was no turning back for Saint Michael's as McFarland started the second period with a power play goal. McFarland finished his hat-trick performance in the third period, ending the night with four points. He also committed a five-minute major penalty for kneeing and was given a ten-minute game misconduct penalty for the play with 6:02 left in the third period.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Thomas McLarnon and Callum Welch combined to record 30 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 50-35, while the Purple Knights won 39-of-64 faceoffs.
- The hosts went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Hounds were scoreless on two attempts.
- Saint Michael's leads the all-time series 44-31-3.
