WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University Women's Basketball team improved by two places in the Northeast-10 Conference standings after beating American International College on Wednesday night in Laska Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Antonia Panayides set the tone with a three-pointer on the game's first attempt. The Greyhounds took a 5-2 lead early on because of it, and they never gave it up. Moments later,
Molly Stokes drained another from beyond the arc to a roar from the crowd in Laska Gymnasium. The Hounds outscored the Yellow Jackets 14-10 in the first quarter and led 31-19 at the half.
Assumption had their best quarter coming out of halftime, scoring 17 to American International's eight.
Marina Callahan and
Molly Stokes were off to great performances on both sides of the ball. In the final quarter, the Greyhounds had pulled far ahead and chose to chisel away at the clock with long possessions. The Hounds heard the final buzzer up by 23.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Molly Stokes led the Assumption offense with a game-high 26 points.
- This was Stokes's fifth time hit the 25-point benchmark in her career.
- Marina Callahan notched her eighth double-double of the season with 11 points, 16 rebounds.
- Antonia Panayides dished out a game-high five assists.
- The Greyhounds lead the all-time series against the Yellow Jackets 41-22.
