WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team fell in overtime to Post University 2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action, as the Eagles spoiled the Greyhounds' senior day, Friday afternoon at the Worcester Ice Center.
THE BASICS:

Records: Greyhounds (11-16-0, 8-9-0 NE10) | Eagles (10-13-0, 8-9-0 NE10)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first period, where Assumption outshot Post 16-8, and won 13-of-14 faceoffs, the Greyhounds got on the board at the 7:39 marker of the second.
Shane McElhaney's shot from the point found its way through the traffic in the slot, putting the hosts up 1-0, with
Declan Chapman and
Thomas McGaffigan recording helpers.
Post would have to wait until 8:18 of the third period to get on the board, as Baxter Kimball broke up an Assumption pass at the blue line and went on a 2-1 breakaway with Joe Santoro, who tied the game at one. The game would head into an overtime period, where the Eagles would net the game-winner just 44 seconds into the frame, with Santoro picking up his second tally.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Hauswirth logged 31 saves between the pipes for the Greyhounds
- Assumption outshot Post 45-33, while also winning 38-of-58 faceoffs.
- The Eagles were the only team to strike on the power play, as they went 1-for-5, while the Hounds were scoreless on five attempts.
- Before the game, the Assumption University athletic department honored the five Greyhound seniors/graduate students: Thomas McLarnon, John Woernle, Sean Corliss, Ronny Paragallo, and Michael Hauswirth.
- Assumption still leads the all-time series 20-5-1.
