WALTHAM, Mass. – The Assumption University baseball team dropped both ends of their doubleheader at Bentley, as the Greyhounds fell 9-8 and 9-4 in their Northeast-10 Conference opener on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game One Score: Bentley University 9, Assumption University 8
Bentley was the first team to get on the board, as they scored one run in each in of the first two innings.
Owen Podolec got Assumption on the board, as his sacrifice fly to right field scored
Lorenzo Lombardo from third.
After the Falcons responded with one in the bottom of the fifth, the Greyhounds erupted for six runs in the top of the sixth, with
Chris Klein hitting a three-run home run to left field. Klein launched his second home run of the day with a solo shot in the top of the seventh to go up 8-3.
The game would head to the bottom of the ninth with Assumption up 8-3, but the Falcons would plate six runs in the inning to walk it off to pick up a 9-8 NE10 opener win.
Game Two Score: Bentley University 9, Assumption University 4
Assumption jumped out to an early lead, as Michael Holbrook and
Jack Barry recorded RBI base knocks in the top of the third inning to go up 2-0. Bentley responded with one run in the bottom of the frame as they scratched across an unearned run. Barry struck again in the top of the fourth as his single to left plated a pair.
It was all Falcons from there on out, as they scored on in the fourth, four in the fifth, and two more in the eighth to run away for a 9-4 final score.
