WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team saw their five-game winning streak come to an end as the Greyhounds fell to Pace University 17-9 in the Northeast-10 Conference opener, Saturday afternoon at Brian Kelly '83 Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started strong, as they scored the only two goals in the first quarter, and
Ryan Bogar and
Nolan Johnson found the back of the cage for the Greyhounds. Colby Baily-Gates pushed the Hounds' advantage to 3-0 early in the second, but Pace would slowly chip away at the deficit and would take the lead right before halftime, with Matt Baldino scoring with 2.54 remaining in the frame to go up 6-5.
Johnson tied the game in the opening minute of the second half, but the Setters exploded for 11 goals in the second half while holding Assumption to just four tallies. Pace picked up the NE10 opener 17-9, snapping the Greyhounds' five-game winning streak.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shane Corcoran logged 12 saves in the crease for the Greyhounds.
- Pace outshot Assumption 39-35 while having the slight edge at the faceoff dot (14-of-27).
- Ryan Bogar recorded a career-high six points while also picking up his third career hat-trick.
- Pace leads the all-time series 18-5.
