CHAIN OF LAKES, Fla. – The Assumption University baseball team dropped their fifth game to begin 2025, as the Greyhounds fell to Tiffin University (Ohio) 8-4 at the Matt Russ Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Tiffin started strong, plating two runs in the bottom of the first inning. They continued to add to their lead with one run in the third and two more in the fourth to go up 5-0.
Owen Podolec got the Greyhounds on the board in the top of the fifth as he drove in
Jamison Howland and
Sean Moynihan with a single to center field.
The Greyhounds got within two runs in the top of the sixth, as
Cody Smith scored on a
Sal Grinstead RBI groundout. The Dragons responded with two in the seventh and one in the eighth to go up 8-3. Assumption attempted to rally in the ninth as Smith drove in Podolec, but their comeback attempt would come up short, and they would fall 8-4.
