WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University baseball team fell in their home opener to Southern New Hampshire University, as the Greyhounds dropped the 13-3 decision in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday afternoon at H.L. Rocheleau Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Southern New Hampshire started fast, as they hit a solo home run in the first inning before hitting a three-run shot in the second and a grand slam in the third to go up 8-0 after three. The Penmen continued to add to their advantage with one goal in the fourth and two in the fifth to go up 11-0.
After SNHU added one run in the top of the seventh, the Greyhounds got on the board in the bottom half of the frame as
Eric Giarnese laced a triple to right field, plating a pair of runs. The Penmen added one more run in the top of the ninth to come away with a 13-3 final score.
