MIAMI SHORE, Fla. – The Assumption University baseball team could not hold off Barry University, as the Greyhounds fell 8-3 to the Buccaneers in non-conference action Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Owen Podolec got Assumption to start fast, as had a leadoff double to begin the game for Assumption before coming around to score on a
Cody Smith groundout. Barry responded by plating three runs in the bottom of the first. The Greyhounds tied the game in the top of the third, as
Sal Grinstead doubled home Podolec before scoring on a Smith double down the left field line.
The Buccaneers regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth, before adding three runs in the sixth and one more in the seventh to go up 8-3. Assumption would attempt to rally in the top of the ninth, as they would get two runners on, but would be unable to score and would fall 8-3.
