LAKE MYRTLE, Fla. – Despite a career-high nine strikeouts by
Evan Remington, the Assumption University baseball team fell to California University of Pennsylvania 8-3 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon at the Matt Russ Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started fast, as
Jack Barry and
Sal Grinstead had RBI singles in the top of the first. California tied the game with a pair of runs in the bottom of the frame, but
Max Lefrancois regained the lead for the Greyhounds with an RBI single, driving in
James McDermott in the top of the second.
The Vulcans tied the game in the bottom of the second before scoring one in the fifth, three in the sixth, and one more in the bottom of the eighth.
Evan Remington recorded a career-high nine strikeouts in 5.0 innings of action despite taking the loss.
