COLCHESTER, VT.—The Assumption University baseball team earned the season split against Saint Michael's College, as the Greyhounds dropped game one 5-3 before taking game two 14-5, Thursday afternoon at Doc Jacobs Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Saint Michael's College 5, Assumption University 3
Saint Michael's College was the first team to score, as they plated a run in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI groundout. The hosts doubled their lead in the second as they drove in a run with a single up the middle of the infield.
Owen Podolec would put the Greyhounds on the board in the top of the seventh with a single through the right side of the infield, driving in
Christopher Manzo on the play. After the Purple Knights regained a two-run lead with a run in the bottom of the seventh, Assumption tied the game with two runs in the eighth.
James McDermott drove in one before
Max Lefrancois tied the game with a single to left field.
Saint Michael's would walk it off in the bottom of the ninth with a two-run home run to right center field, giving the hosts a 5-3 game one win.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 14, Saint Michael's College 5
Assumption opened the scoring in the top of the second, as
Max Lefrancois singled to center before
Owen Podolec and
Jack Barry recorded RBI singles, putting the Hounds up 3-0. Saint Michael's responded with four runs of their own in the bottom of the frame to take a 4-3 early advantage. In his third plate appearance of the game, Podolec laced a single through the left side of the infield, putting the Greyhounds up 5-4.
After the Purple Knights tied the game in the bottom of the third, Assumption erupted for five runs in the top of the fourth, with
Christopher Manzo and
Anthony Marco recording two RBI base knocks, to go up 10-5. The Greyhounds continued to extend their lead in the top of the seventh, as
Sean Moynihan had an RBI double to right center before
Patrick McManus hit a three-run home run to left field, making it 14-5.
Patrick Foulis picked up the win for the Hounds, as he tossed 4.0 scoreless innings in relief, where he struck out five and just allowed two base runners.
