WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University baseball team dropped two close games to Saint Anselm College, as the Greyhounds fell 5-3 and 7-3 in Northeast-10 Conference action Friday afternoon at H.L. Rocheleau '24 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Saint Anselm College 5, Assumption University 3
Saint Anselm jumped out to an early advantage, as George Slauson hit a two-run home run to right field in the top of the first. Assumption responded in the bottom of the first, as
Sal Grinstead had a seeing-eye single through the right side of the infield, plating
Jack Barry on the play.
Jack Barry tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning, as he grounded out to shortstop, with
Eric Giarnese scoring on the play.
Slauson struck again in the top of the eighth, as he hit his second home run of the day, this time a three-run bomb to go up 5-2.
Chris Klein responded for the Hounds in the bottom of the eighth with a leadoff home run to dead center field, cutting the deficit to 5-3.
Game Two Score: Saint Anselm College 7, Assumption University 3
Saint Anselm raced out to a 1-0 lead after one and 3-0 after two.
Sal Grinstead led off the bottom of the second inning with a no-doubt solo home run to right field.
Jamison Howland tied the game in the bottom of the second with a two-RBI double to the right-center field gap.
The Hawks added a pair of solo home runs in the sixth and seventh to take a 5-3 advantage, before plating two more runs in the eighth to win game two 7-3.
