MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Assumption University outdoor track & field team had a strong first day of the Northeast-10 Conference Championship, as the men sit in second place, while the women are in fifth place, on Friday afternoon at Mark A. Quellette Stadium on the campus of Southern New Hampshire University.
MEN'S DAY ONE RESULTS | WOMEN'S DAY ONE RESULTS
Preliminaries
Athena Comeau filled the last spot in the women's 100m (12.65), while
Joel Spaulding (10.93) and
Jared Gibbons (10.98) qualified on the men's side.
Katrina Sullivan moved on to tomorrow's final in the women's 100m hurdles with a fifth-place finish (14.73), while
Camille Lopez took sixth in the women's 400m prelim (59.01).
DJ Chaudhry (49.39) won the second heat in the men's 400, advancing to the finals, while
Colby Medeiros (1:55.04) just missed out on the top seed in the men's 800m final, as he finished .15 of a second behind the top seed.
Finals
Madison Lupino started the scoring for the Greyhounds, finishing fourth in the women's hammer (45.99m | 150' 10"), while
Jayden Wilkins (50.46m | 165' 6") and
Avery Lemieux (49.56m | 162' 7") took third and fourth on the men's side of the event.
Ava Bernard took home bronze in the women's pole vault (3.20m | 10' 6"), while
Alexandria O'Shea took eighth in the women's high jump (1.47m | 4' 9.75").
Malina Bohlmann defended her title in the women's javelin, as she won the event this year with a throw of 45.49m (149' 3"), while
Abby Camelio took seventh (34.16m | 112' 1"). The Greyhounds collected 22 points in the men's javelin, as
Zachary Carey (2
nd – 57.84m | 189' 9"),
Hunter Corthell (3
rd – 56.94m | 186' 9"),
Taber Lawler (4
th – 55.76m | 182' 11"), and
Miguel Torres (6
th – 51.90m | 170' 3").
Rose Connolly took home two points, placing seventh in the women's 1500m (4:53.94), while
Colby Medeiros (3:56.69) took third on the men's side.
Joseph Carroll took home a fourth-place finish in the men's 10k, with his time of 33:12.47.
In the relays, the combination of
Cassidy Elliott, Audrey Strmskia,
Grace Reilly, and
Camryn Sprague finished seventh in the women's 4x800 (11:08.93). On the men's side,
Brendan Morin,
Anthony Manna,
Thomas Hall, and
Gavin Gareri (8:34.54) also took seventh.
