SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.– The No. 5 nationally ranked Assumption University field hockey team fell 1-0 to the fourth-ranked Shippensburg University Raiders on the road Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Shippensburg scored the only goal of the contest in the first quarter. It was Anne Gardner off the bench to break the tie. Assumption was able to clean up all mistakes on the defensive side of the ball to not allow another Raiders goal. The Greyhounds continued their recent struggles offensively and could not find the equalizer.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Paige Gillette recorded five saves in the cage for Assumption.
- Elle Murray registered ten shots, with six being on target.
- The Greyhounds were outshot 16-9, but the Raiders found the target much less.
- Shippensburg had the advantage with six corners compared to Assumption's two.
- The Raiders lead the all-time series against the Hounds 4-0.
