HOW IT HAPPENED:
In the opening few minutes, the two teams took some time to feel each other. It wasn't until Lauryn Broecker had a breakaway for Assumption that the Robert Morris netminder turned it aside. Robert Morris would be the first team to score, as Catriona Crarer scored on the power play with a tipped shot from the point at 2:07 of the second period. Eight minutes into the frame, the Greyhounds drew a five-minute major on the Colonials and would fire five shots before getting called for an equalizing body checking penalty. While skating 4-on-4, Robert Morris found another goal, as Alaina Giampietro found the back of the net. Before the end of the second, the Colonials would push their lead to 4-0 with two goals in the final two minutes of the frame.

Assumption got on the board early in the third period, as Rachel Agerter forced a turnover in the offensive zone, and roofed a shot, beating the RMU netminder between the glove and the pad. The Greyhounds continued to push, as Kayla McGaffigan redirected a Justina Valentini scored on the power play with a wrist shot from the top of the circle to cut the deficit to 4-2 with 15:08 left in the frame. Robert Morris would add two more goals in the third period to pull away for a 6-2 final score.
