MANCHESTER, N.H.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team ran their unbeaten streak to begin 2026 to three games, as they skated to a 3-3 tie at Saint Anselm College in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Jonathan Surrette opened the scoring at 2:22 of the first period, as he scored off a one-timer off
Jake Russell's faceoff win. The Greyhounds doubled their lead halfway through the opening period, as
Brett Cunningham and
Ryan Decker had a give-and-go play following a turnover in the Saint Anselm College end of the ice, and it was Decker who found the back of the net. The Hawks cut into the deficit before the end of the first, as Luke Linart scored for the hosts.
Surrette struck again in the second period, extending the Hounds' lead to 3-1, before Sean Connolly responded for the hosts. The Hawks would tie the game in the third period, forcing overtime where neither team would score. The Greyhounds would grab bragging rights, as they topped Saint Anselm in the seventh round of the shootout.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Salvatore recorded 30 saves between the pipes for the Greyhounds.
- Saint Anselm outshot Assumption33-31, while also winning 38-of-65 faceoffs.
- The Hawks were the only team to have a power play, where they did not score.
- Saint Anselm leads the all-time series 39-18-4.
