WORCESTER, Mass. - The Assumption University women's ice hockey team picked up their first win of 2026, with a 4-1 New England Women's Hockey Alliance win over Post University, Saturday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first period,
Caroline Lilley put Assumption on the board with a power play goal at the 8;26 marker of the middle period. The Greyhounds doubled their lead early in the third period, as
Ava McGaffigan scored on another power play to go up 2-0.
Post would eventually get on the scoreboard at the 3:42 marker, as Tristan Currie jammed home the Eagles' first goal of the contest.
Heather Ajakie found an insurance goal at 7:51 before
Kaitlyn Cielo sealed the game with a full ice empty netter with 1:28 left in regulation.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Jadyn Weiser logged 40 saves in the win
- Assumption outshot Post 49-40, while also winning 35-of-55 faceoffs.
- The Greyhounds went 2-of-5 on the powerplay, while the Eagles went 0-for-3.
- Assumption leads the all-time series 6-4-2.
