WINCHENDON, Mass.— The Assumption University men's ice hockey team continued their hot streak, as they defeated Franklin Pierce University 6-1 in Northeast 10 Conference action, Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Declan Chapman put Assumption on the board first, as he scored after a turnover in the Franklin Pierce defensive end, giving the Greyhounds a 1-0 lead, 3:01 into the contest. The Hounds broke open the game in the second period, as
Jonathan Surrette doubled the Blue and White lead at the 7:50 marker, before
Jake Russell made it 3-0 at 11:32. Surrette struck once again at 14:18, extending the Assumption lead to 4-0 through 40 minutes.
Franklin Pierce eventually broke through at the 4:56 marker of the third period, as Nick Fish lit the lamp. The Greyhounds responded later in the frame, as Andrew Tooney and
Shane McElhaney scored later in the period, as Assumption pulled away for a 6-1 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Michael Salvatore logged 29 saves in the win.
- Assumption outshot Franklin Pierce 36-30, while also winning 40-of-68 faceoffs.
- Neither side scored on the power play, as the Greyhounds went 0-for-1, and the Ravens went 0-of-5.
- The Blue and White pushed their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1), where they are averaging 5.0 goals per game.
- Jonathan Surrette extended his point streak to 11 games following his four-tally game. He has now scored 22 points over that stretch (12 goals, 10 assists)
- Assumption leads the all-time series 36-21-7
