WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's basketball team came up short of an upset of No. 24 Bentley University, as the Greyhounds fell to the Falcons 59-55, in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon inside Laska Gymnasium.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption had the higher hand early in the game, as they started the game on a 13-5 run with
Teagan Kamm leading the way with five. Bentley would respond with a 9-0 run to close out the first quarter, up 14-13. After back-to-back baskets by
Thai Davis, the Greyhounds would regain a 17-14 advantage. Once again, the Falcons would spark a 7-0 run to go back up by four points (21-17). The Hounds would finish off the half on an 8-2 run to go up 25-23 into the intermission.
In the second half, Assumption started strong, as they extended their lead to nine points (34-25) following a layup by
Teagan Kamm with 6:45 to go in the frame. Kamm would push the Greyhounds' lead to the largest of the game, 11-points (38-27), but Bentley would not go quietly and would trim the deficit down to six at the end of the third.
In the fourth, the Falcons would use a 15-8 run, powered by Cherish Bryant, to regain the lead at 53-52 with just 3:15 left in regulation. The two teams would trade the lead over the final few minutes, but the Falcons would use a Bryant stepback and two free throws by Cassidy Yeoman to secure a 59-55 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Thai Davis and Teagan Curran had the game-high with 15 points, while Teagan Kamm added 11 points.
- Assumption outrebounded Bentley 38-32, but it was the Falcons who outscored the Greyhounds in the paint (42-26).
- Bentley still leads the all-time series 53-5
