WORCESTER, Mass. —
Teagan Curran scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, as the Assumption University women's basketball team extended their winning-streak to eight games following a 61-57 win over Adelphi University in Northeast 10 Conference action, Wednesday evening in Laska Gymnasium.
THE BASICS:

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption started fast, as they went on an 8-0 run to begin the game, while the defense held Adelphi to 0-6 shooting from the field in the opening 4:45 of the first quarter. The Panthers would get their offense going, as they got with one (10-9) before
Emma Dahl hit a layup in the final seconds of the frame.
In the second quarter, the visitors would have a strong start, going on a 9-2 run to take an 18-14 lead. The Greyhounds responded with a 13-2 run, fueled by
Emily Collins, to get back in front 27-20 with 2:06 remaining in the first half. The Panthers closed the half on an 8-0 run to snag a 28-27 lead at the intermission.
After Adelphi started the third quarter with a layup on the opening possession,
Maeve Moriarty and
Teagan Kamm went on a 7-0 run of their own, giving Assumption a 34-30 lead. After the Panthers tied the game at 34-34, the two teams traded points for the remainder of the frame, but it was
Teagan Curran who drained a three-pointer in the final 30 seconds, putting the Greyhounds up 43-40 with one quarter to go.
In the fourth quarter, Curran took over for the Greyhounds as she scored 14 of Assumption's 18 points in the period, including going 4-of-5 from the field, 5-of-8 from the line, while adding two rebounds and a steal in the quarter, securing the Hounds' eighth-straight win.
BY THE NUMBERS:
- Teagan Curran has scored 20+ points in three-straight games following her career-high 24 points to go along with five rebounds and five steals.
- Teagan Kamm poured in 14 points and had seven rebounds, while Emily Collins had ten points, four rebounds, and two blocks.
- Thai Davis stuffed the stat sheet with four points, 13 rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks
- Assumption outrebounded Adelphi 44-35, while also outscoring them in the paint, 32*26.
