HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption opened the scoring in the first quarter after generating three penalty corners in the opening 12 minutes. Taylor Tory put the Greyhounds in front at 11:18, scoring her third goal of the season off assists from Kelsey McCleary and Julia Carbone to give Assumption a 1-0 advantage.

The Greyhounds continued to apply pressure in the second quarter, producing seven shots and four penalty corners. Adelphi answered at 20:12, however, as Sydney Flores scored off assists from Jody van Aardt and Mieke van Antwerpen to even the contest at 1-1. Assumption responded with chances from Marta Brzoska and Daisy Stone, but the score remained tied heading into halftime.

Assumption controlled the opportunities in the third quarter, as Stone, Brzoska and Carbone each put shots on goal, but Adelphi goalkeeper Tayla Szmak kept the Greyhounds off the board to send the 1-1 tie into the fourth.

The Greyhounds needed less than a minute in the fourth quarter to regain the lead.
