WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's ice hockey team got back in the win column, as they defeated Saint Michael's College 6-1 in New England Women's Hockey Alliance action, Friday evening at the Worcester Ice Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
After a scoreless first period,
Jodie Gratton got the scoring started for Assumption, as she lit the lamp at 1:37 of the second period. Three minutes later,
Alexa Hanrahan struck on the power play, doubling the Greyhounds' advantage, before
Lexi Kirkeby capped off the middle period with another tally.
Hanrahan scored her second of the game in the opening minute of the third period. Saint Michael's got on the board, as Kyler Weatherred scored at 8:09. The Greyhounds responded with goals from
Kayla McGaffigan and
Natalie Joiner, pushing the final score to 6-1.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Leila Fournier logged 14 saves in the win.
- Assumption outshot Saint Michael's 59-15, while the Greyhounds won 43-of-66 faceoffs.
- The Hounds went 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Purple Knights were scoreless on two attempts.
- Assumption still leads the all-time series 10-0-1.
