WORCESTER, Mass.— The Assumption University women's basketball team used a 22-7 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 63-45 win over Molloy University, in non-conference action, Saturday afternoon inside Andrew Laska Gymnasium.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption had the slight edge early on, as they jumped out to a 6-2 lead, 3:20 into the contest. After back-to-back layups by Colleen McCullagh to tie the game for Molloy, the Greyhounds closed the first quarter on an 11-5 run to take a 17-11 lead after 10 minutes of action. The Lions nearly erased the deficit three minutes into the second quarter, opening the frame on a 9-4 run to draw within one (21-20). The Blue and White used balanced scoring for the remainder of the first half, as they used a 13-6 run to take an eight-point (34-26) lead into the intermission.
Coming out of the break, the Lions went on a 12-7 scoring stretch to close the deficit down to three points (41-38) with 10 minutes to play, as Sharmeela Ugbogbo scored six. In the fourth quarter, Assumption pulled away, using balanced scoring. The Greyhounds outscored the Lions 22-7 in the frame, with

Teagan Kamm, and
Teagan Curran all dropping five points apiece in the final quarter. Assumption would pull away for a 63-45 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Madison Handrahan and Teagan Kamm both poured in 14 points, while Teagan Curran and Laura Johnson-Shedd added 10 points.
- Handrahan had a career-high nine assists, while Kamm also just missed out on a double-double with eight boards.
- Assumption outrebounded Molloy 44-31, despite both teams scoring 28 points in the paint.
- Assumption finished their non-conference slate a perfect 8-0.
- The Greyhounds now lead the all-time series 6-1.
