PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team saw their four-game winning streak come to an end, as the Greyhounds fell to No. 13 Pace University, 11-10, in Northeast 10 Conference action, Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption started strong, as they scored the first four goals of the game, all coming in the first quarter, as
Boomer Staunton,
Ben McHugh, and
Brian Shortt all found the back of the cage. Pace would get on the board with back-to-back goals to begin the second, but the quick run would be halted by
Braden Mutschler, regaining a three-goal advantage for the Greyhounds (5-2). The Setters would score twice late in the frame to cut the deficit down to one (5-4) at the break.
Coming out of the break, the hosts would tie the game to begin the third quarter. The two teams would trade scores throughout the frame, but the Setters would get back-to-back goals from Matt Baldino and
Declan Turner, giving the hosts their first lead of the contest (8-7) with four minutes left in the quarter. Staunton tied the game right before the third quarter horn, sending the game to the fourth tied at 8-8.
In the fourth quarter, the two teams traded the first four goals of the frame, with Assumption going ahead each time. Matt Baldino scored three goals in the final quarter, including two in the final two minutes, to give Pace the 11-10 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Shane Corcoran recorded 15 saves in the loss.
- Patrik McGrath led the Greyhounds with two goals and two assists, while Ben McHugh and Boomer Staunton had two goals apiece.
- Assumption outshot Pace 44-38, while neither team scored on the man-advantage.
- The Setters won 12 of 23 faceoffs.
- Pace now leads the all-time series 19-5
