WORCESTER, Mass.—The Assumption University baseball team snapped a 13-game losing streak to Franklin Pierce University, as they split the Northeast 10 Conference doubleheader, Sunday afternoon at H.L. Rocheleau '24 Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Franklin Pierce University 16, Assumption University 8
Franklin Pierce plated one in the top of the first inning, before Assumption answered in the bottom half of the frame with
James McDermott driving in Tommy Oscal with a single up the middle. After the Ravens plated three runs in the second inning, the Greyhounds responded with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the frame.
Anthony Marco had a solo home run to left field,
Patrick Kostiw drove in
Sam Curtis, before Oscal had a sacrifice fly to right to tie the game at 4-4.
FPU responded with four runs in the third and one more in the fifth to go up 9-4.
Chris Klein answered in the bottom of the fifth, as his ground rule double to left field plated
Nolan Bell on the play. The Franklin Pierce bats continued to stay red-hot, as they added two runs in the sixth and five more in the seventh to go up 16-5. Klein laced his second double of the game in the seventh, scoring a pair, before
Sam Curtis had an RBI single, making it 16-8.
Game Two Score: Assumption University 8, Franklin Pierce University 2
After Franklin Pierce scored one run in the top of the first inning,
Christopher Manzo put Assumption on top with a three-run home run to left field. The Greyhounds added to their lead in the third inning, as Klein drove in Manzo with an RBI single.
The Blue and White broke the game open in the fifth inning, as they plated four runs in the frame, with
Anthony Marco,
Patrick McManus,
Nick Paharik, and
Will Panza picking up RBI in the frame. The Ravens added a run in the top of the sixth, but Assumption would walk away with an 8-2 win in the nightcap, and their first win over Franklin Pierce since May 10, 2022.
Michael Crowley picked up the win, as he allowed one run in 5.0 innings and struck out four.
