HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Saint Anselm College 13, Assumption University 8
Saint Anselm jumped out front early with three runs in the top of the first inning, with George Slauson and Peter Fischer picking up RBI in the frame. Assumption responded with the first three batters of the bottom of the frame, as Tommy Ocasal reached on an error, a bunt single by Sam Curtis, and a three-run home run to left field by James McDermott to tie the game at 3-3.

Chris Klein nearly broke the game open in the bottom of the second, as the Greyhounds loaded the bases with two outs in the frame, and he just missed out with a grand slam with a warning track flyout to left field. The Hawks threatened at the top of the third inning by loading the bases with just one out in the frame, but Luke Barry induced an inning-ending 4-6-3 double play to get out of the early jam.

The Greyhounds would take their first lead of the day, as Nick Paharik laced an RBI double down the left field line, scoring Michael Caron from second on the play. The game would continue to go back and forth, as the Hawks would tie the game at the top of the fourth with an RBI single to center from Jackson Powers, tying the game at 4-4. Saint Anselm regained their lead at the top of the fifth, as they plated six runs in the inning, to go up 10-4. Christopher Manzo answered in the bottom half of the frame with a solo home run to right-center field.

The Hawks added two runs in the top of the sixth before Chris Klein and Michael Caron recorded RBI hits to the outfield, making it 12-7. Both teams scored one run in the seventh, as Saint Anselm would walk away with a 13-8 win in game one.

Game Two ScoreSaint Anselm College 10, Assumption University 5
Assumption was the first team to score, as Anthony Marco came around to score on a failed pickoff attempt at second base in the bottom of the first. Saint Anselm had to wait until the fifth inning, when they scored three unearned runs to go up 3-1. After plating three more runs in the seventh to go up 6-1, Assumption cut into the deficit with a Chris Klein three-run home run to dead center field, making it 6-4 Hawks.

The visitors tacked on four runs in the top of the ninth to expand their advantage to 10-4, but Patrick Kostiw drove in Michael Caron with an RBI groundout, making the final score 10-5. Michael Crowley took the loss, despite pitching 6.0 innings, where he scattered five hits, striking out seven, and not allowing an earned run.
