WALTHAM, Mass.—The Assumption University baseball team improved to 4-1 against nationally ranked teams, as the Greyhounds knocked off No. 19 Bentley University in Northeast 10 Conference action, 11-5 at Robert Defelice Baseball Field, Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Assumption was the first team to score, as
James McDermott drove in
Anthony Marco with an RBI double to right field in the top of the first. After Bentley tied the game in the bottom of the first,
Nick Paharik plated
Christopher Manzo with an RBI groundout to short. The Greyhounds made it 3-1, as Marco had an RBI single up the middle, scoring
Michael Caron on the play.
The Falcons tied the game in the bottom of the second before going in front in the third, as Brendan Sencaj hit a two-run home run to right field. The Hounds refused to go away quietly, as they scored one run in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the game at 5-5.
Assumption broke the game open in the eighth inning, as they plated five runs in the frame.
Eric Giarnese had an RBI single to center before
Tony Salvatelli plated two on a double to center field. McDermott made it 10-5 after his single through the right side of the infield scored two.
Will Panza made it 11-5 in the top of the ninth, as he scored on a wild pitch.
Mitchell Canuel pitched a perfect 4.2 innings in relief of
Jack Lizewski, where he had three strikeouts and sat down all 14 batters that he faced to earn the win.
Ryan Cloutier finished off the final 2.0 innings, where he allowed just two hits and struck out one.
