Men’s Lacrosse rises to No. 15 in USILA Coaches Poll

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team moved up to No. 15 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) coaches poll on Monday afternoon.

The Greyhounds (11-4, 5-3 NE10) moved up to No. 15 after besting No. 19 Saint Michael's College 10-9 in overtime in the Northeast 10 Conference First Round. The Hounds are ranked in the top 25 in winning percentage (13th – 0.733), turnovers per game (15th – 16.87), clearing percentage (16th – 0.892), scoring margin (18th – 4.73), scoring offense (19th – 14.33), man-down defense (19th - 0.737), saves (19th – 201), caused turnovers per game (20th – 10.93), saves per game (22nd – 13.40), points per game (24th – 22.07), points (25th – 331)

Sophomore Boomer Staunton leads the Greyhounds offensively with a program record 53 goals, while Patrik McGrath supplies a balanced attack with 35 goals and 28 assists for 63 points. Ben McHugh (32), Max Lowenberg (20), Patrick Johnston (13), Nolan Johnson (12), and Brian Shortt (12) all add secondary scoring. 

Defensively, the trio of Trent SargentDeclan Turner, and Kevin Chrabascz combine for 66 caused turnovers and 90 ground balls, while Shane Corcoran has been one of the best netminders in the country once again. In 15 games, he has a 9.59 goals-against average and a 0.594 save percentage, and his 183 saves rank him second in the Northeast 10 Conference. 

Men's Lacrosse is in the Northeast 10 Conference for the first time in program history, as they will face No. 1 Adelphi University on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00 pm on Long Island.
