WORCESTER, Mass. – The Assumption University men's lacrosse team had five student-athletes named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-Region team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday afternoon.

Boomer Staunton was named to the USILA North All-Region First Team, Shane Corcoran, Ben McHugh, and Trent Sargent were selected to the Third Team. Patrik McGrath found his way to the honorable mention team.

Staunton had one of the best seasons in Assumption men's lacrosse program history, as the sophomore broke Justin Cecil's single-season goals record of 47 (1995) with 58, while adding 14 assists for 72 points, one shy of Cecil's single-season points record (1995). Staunton was also named as the Northeast 10 Conference Offensive Player of the Year, while also being named to the All-NE10 First Team. He also led the team with four game-winning goals.

Corcoran was named to the All-Region first team after being named to the Northeast 10 Conference Second Team. In 17 games, he has a 10.82 goals-against average and a .557 save percentage. His 201 saves ranked second in the NE10.

McHugh carried the momentum from a stellar freshman year into his sophomore campaign, as he scored 35 goals and nine assists for 44 points. He scored the game-winning goal in the regular-season finale at Bentley.

Sargent picked an All-Region honor after being named to the All-NE10 Second Team. He was the top defender for the Greyhounds, where he established new career-highs in both groundballs (48) and caused turnovers (28). His 62 career-caused turnovers passed Pat Trainor '13 for the most in program history.

After missing all of last season, McGrath had a career year, scoring 37 goals and adding 31 assists for 68 points, while also being named to the All-NE10 Third Team for the second time. His 31 assists rank him tied for third in program history, joining Travis Reid's 2018 output. McGrath's 68 points rank him fourth, just behind Reid once again.

The men's lacrosse program had its best season in program history, as they set the most wins in a single season (11), while also making the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
