THE BASICS
Game One Score: Assumption University 12, Southern Connecticut State University 3

Records: Greyhounds (12-32, 8-26 NE10) | Owls (16-27, 12-21 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Game One Score: Assumption University 12, Southern Connecticut State University 3
The early portion of game one was a pitcher's duel, as neither team could score a run until the top of the fifth inning, when Chris Klein hit a two-run home run to the opposition field. Southern Connecticut answered in the bottom of the frame with two runs of their own to tie the game at 2-2.

The Greyhounds would break the game open in the top of the seventh, as they plated seven runs in the frame, with Tony Salvatelli, Eric Giarnese, Will Panza, Patrick Kostiw, and Anthony Marco recording RBI, before Michael Caron capped off the inning with a two-run home run to right field. The Owls would add one run in the eighth, but Kostiw and Christopher Manzo drove in runs in the ninth to pull away for a 12-3 win in game one.

Evan Remington established a new career-high with 10 strikeouts, as he allowed two earned runs on five hits in 5.0 innings. Luke Barry picked up the win, as he tossed 3.0 innings on one-run baseball before handing it over to Justin Plausky in the ninth, who struck out one.

Game Two Score: Southern Connecticut State University 17, Assumption University 9
Like game one, both times through the batting order were scoreless, and the scoring came in bunches. Southern Connecticut was the first team to get on the board, as they plated one run in the bottom of the third. The Greyhounds answered with four runs in the top of the fourth, as Nick Paharik, Marco, and Caron drove in runs in the frame. The Owls answered in the bottom of the inning with a four-spot to regain a one-run lead.

Assumption went up 9-5 with a five-run, fifth inning, with Nolan Bell starting it off with a two-run double, before Patrick McManus doubled home Bell. Marco and Caron capped off the scoring, as they each plated a run. SCSU answered with four runs in the bottom of the fifth before erupting for eight runs in the sixth to pull away for a 17-9 win.
