THE BASICS
Score: Assumption University 3, Southern New Hampshire University 1
Records: Greyhounds (4-3, 0-0 NE10) | Penmen (5-3, 0-0 NE10)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Assumption opened the scoring just 2:18 into the contest, as Julia Carbone finished a feed from Marta Brzoska for her second goal of the season. Southern New Hampshire responded at 5:06 when Zoe Demers scored to even the game at 1-1. The Greyhounds continued to pressure the Penmen throughout the opening quarter, with Caroline Mastergeorge, Carbone, Brzoska and Elly Schofer all putting shots on goal, while Nova Rijks hit the post in the 11th minute.

Assumption regained the lead in the second quarter after controlling much of the early action. Following a penalty corner from Daisy Stone, Mastergeorge found the back of the cage at 20:33 for her first goal of the season, giving the Greyhounds a 2-1 advantage. Assumption carried that lead into halftime after outshooting Southern New Hampshire 15-5 over the opening 30 minutes.

The Greyhounds continued to apply pressure in the third quarter, generating four penalty corners and eight shots. After several chances were turned aside, Rijks converted a penalty stroke at 42:08 for her second goal of the season, extending the Assumption advantage to 3-1. Southern New Hampshire threatened late in the period, but Carolyn Durand made a save to preserve the two-goal lead.

Assumption kept the Penmen off the scoreboard throughout the fourth quarter to secure the 3-1 victory.
