A PSA is any student who has started classes for the 9th grade, is a student in a preparatory school or 2-year college, OR is a student at a 4-year institution who has provided written notification of transfer to their NCAA institution.
You become a "recruited" PSA at Assumption University if any coach or representative of the University's athletics interest (i.e., "booster") does any of the following:
- Provides you with an official visit to Assumption. (Official visits are limited to one per PSA and are triggered when the Institution pays for part or all of your expenses for the visit.)
- Arrange an in-person off-campus meeting or telephone call (text, email, direct Message, etc.) with a PSA or their relative or legal guardian.
- Initiating or arranging telephone contact with the PSA, relative, or legal guardian.
NCAA Eligibility Center
In order to participate in intercollegiate athletics or have an official visit, you must be registered with an “Academic and Amateurism Certification Account” in the NCAA Eligibility Center. More information can be found here. Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
NCAA Recruiting Rules
The NCAA strictly regulates when and how coaches and athletic department staff members can contact PSAs. Coaches are only allowed to have in-person recruiting interactions with PSA after June 15 of the PSA’s sophomore year of high school.
Transfer Students
PSAs who wish to transfer to Assumption University are subject to Division II transfer eligibility rules. The rules are different depending on whether you are transferring from a 2-year junior college or a 4-year institution. Please reference the NCAA's Transfer Guide for an overview of transfer eligibility rules.
- If you are a student currently at another 4-year NCAA institution, Assumption University coaches and administrators are not allowed to contact you unless you are in the Transfer Portal. Please speak to your current institution to enter the Transfer Portal.
- If you are a student currently at a 2-year college or a non-NCAA 4-year institution, there are no requirements that you need to complete for our Coaches to speak to you about transferring.
