Hounds Fall Short to American International College, 2-1

Worcester, Mass. (October 15) -- The Assumption women's soccer team fell to American International College, 2-1, in Northeast-10 conference action on Saturday evening.

The Hounds were outshot, 15-6, and American International took a 2-0 lead in the first 21 minutes on goals by Devan Boundy and Hilary Baker.

The Hounds cut the lead to one when Nicole Savi (Dedham, Mass./Dedham) calmly slipped a penalty shot past the keeper, but could not get any closer than that.

Freshman goalie Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro) made six saves in the loss.

The Hounds fell to 3-9-1 on the season and 1-9-1 in the Northeast-10, while American International improved to 4-8-2 overall and 4-6-2 in the conference.

The Hounds hit the field next when the team travels to Bentley to take on the Falcons. The match will begin at 3:30 p.m.
