Box Score West Haven, Conn. (October 2) -- The Assumption women's soccer team picked up its first Northeast-10 victory, 2-0, against the University of New Haven on Sunday. 
Kelsey Imondi (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate) scored twice for the Hounds and freshman goalie Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro) completed her first collegiate complete game shutout as she made two saves against the Chargers.
After a scoreless first half, Imondi broke through on a goal in the 54th minute. Junior Molly Kessler (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) assisted the goal. 25 minutes later, the Hounds capitalized on the same combination, as Imondi found the back of the net off a Kessler pass in the 79th minute.
 
The Hounds improve to 3-6-1 on the season and 1-6-1 in the Northeast-10.
Assumption will take the field next when they travel to Saint Michael's to take on the Purple Knights on October 8th. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m. in Colchester.
