Women's Soccer Comes Up Short Against Franklin Pierce

Worcester, Mass. (September 25) -- The women's soccer team fell to Franklin Pierce, 2-0, despite a strong showing from freshman goalie Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y./Whitesboro).

The freshman made nine saves on 11 shots, and held the Ravens scoreless through 85 minutes. However, in the 86th minute, Amanda Panaro found the back of the net off a pass from Tori Gikas. Less than three minutes later, Gikas added her own goal to make the final margin 2-0.

The Hounds fall to 2-5-1 on the season and 0-5-1 in the Northeast-10 with the loss.

The Hounds take the field next when they travel to Merrimack on Sept. 28th. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. in North Andover, Mass.
