Box Score Springfield, Mass. (October 16) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 final to nationally ranked American International College on Tuesday evening. The Yellow Jackets are ranked No. 15 in the latest NSCAA Division II Coaches' Poll.
The Yellow Jackets struck twice in the first 20 minutes of play, as Sarah Tomlinson and Caroline Boyce each tallied goals. The score remained that way for nearly 70 minutes, before AIC added a third goal by Devan Boundy in the 87th minute.
Junior Allison Bruder (Sandy, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) made 10 saves for Assumption in the loss, while Samantha Tabak made five saves in the shutout win.
The Greyhounds fall to 3-8-3 overall and 3-6-3 in Northeast-10 Conference action, while AIC improves to 10-2-2 and 9-1-2 in league play.
Assumption will return to play on Oct. 20 at Saint Anselm College. The match will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Manchester, N.H.
