Box Score New Haven, Conn. (October 24) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 final to Southern Conn. State University on Wednesday evening.
The Greyhounds trailed 1-0 heading into halftime, and the Owls extended that lead to two in the 66th minute.
Assumption cut into the lead on a goal by freshman Paige Radomski (Silver Lake/Kingston, Mass.), as she was able to beat the SCSU keeper for her second goal of the season in the 78th minute. Senior Molly Kessler (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) assisted the goal, her ninth of the season. That assist moves her to number five on the single season list in school history.
Allison Bruder (Sandy, Utah/Juan Diego Catholic) made five saves for Assumption as the Greyhounds fall to 3-10-3 on the season with a 3-8-3 mark in Northeast-10 Conference play. SCSU improves to 9-4-3 overall and 7-4-3 in league play.
The Greyhounds return to action on Saturday, Oct. 27 as the team prepares to take on Merrimack College. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium. Prior to the game, the Greyhounds will honor its senior class.
