Worcester, Mass. (Sept. 6) -- The Assumption College men's soccer team dropped a 3-0 final to LIU Post on Thurday night, as freshman keeper Dana King (Windham, Maine/Windham) made four saves in the loss.

The Pioneers jumped out to a quick lead, scoring three goals in the first ten minutes of the game, with Eirik Bjoenoe assisting on all three strikes.

From there the two teams played even, but Assumption could only put two shots on net, as the team fell to 1-1 with the loss.

The teams played a contested and competitive match, with four total yellow cards being issues between the two teams.

The Greyhounds return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 11, as Assumption travels to Albany, N.Y. to take on The College of Saint Rose. Assumption defeated the Golden Knights, 4-0, in the matchup of the two teams last season, as senior goalie Matt Wrenn (Windham, N.H./Tilton School) made three saves in a shutout victory.
