Albany, N.Y. (October 16) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 final to the College of Saint Rose on Wednesday evening. The College of Saint Rose dropped a spot to number four in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II National Weekly Poll that was released on Tuesday.

The Greyhounds started off the game with a beautiful set of combination passes that ended with a scoring chance for senior Andrea Bates (Holden, Mass. / Wachusett), but the senior put the shot off the post.

The Golden Knights took control of the game from that point, scoring three times over the next 20 minutes, rattling a young back line of the Greyhounds.

Assumption settled down and applied pressure throughout the remainder of the game, finishing the game with nine shots on target, but could not put the ball past the combination of two Saint Rose keepers. The Golden Knights added a fourth goal in the 67th minute for the final margin.

Junior goalkeeper Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) made seven saves in the loss for the Greyhounds while Ashley Homer and Jessica Gerski paired up for nine saves in a combined shutout for Saint Rose.

The Greyhounds fall to 5-2-4 overall and are now 3-2-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play while Saint Rose improves to 12-0-1 and sits at 8-0-1 in league play.

Assumption will be back in action on Saturday, October 19th as the Greyhounds travel to Bentley University to take on the Falcons. The match will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Waltham, Mass.
