Box Score Worcester, Mass. (October 2) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 1-1 tie against Adelphi University at the Multi-Sport Stadium on Wednesday evening. Now unbeaten through seven games, the Greyhounds have the second longest unbeaten start in school history.
The Panthers got on the board first in the 67th minute as Olivia Czavar scored the first goal of the game.
Trailing by a goal in the 88th minute, sophomore Paige Radomski (Kingston, Mass. / Silver Lake) found the back of the net on a rip from 20 yards out, leveling the score at one. Senior Andrea Bates (Holden, Mass. / Wachusett) assisted the goal, and continued her steadying presence on the field.
Freshmen Kelsey Pietruska (Durham, Conn. / Mercy) and Jaclyn Tomasello (Halifax, Mass. / Silver Lake) limited the regionally-ranked Adelphi attack to just a few scoring opportunities and junior Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) made five saves in the game for the Greyhounds while Sam Whitney made seven saves in goal for the Panthers.
The Greyhounds outshot Adelphi by a 16-10 margin, including a 4-0 advantage in the second overtime period. The Greyhounds senior leadership helped Assumption possess control of the extra session. Assumption also attempted four corner kicks while Adelphi only managed one.
The Greyhounds move to 4-0-3 on the season and are now 2-0-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play while Adelphi moves to 4-1-2 on the season and is now 2-1-2 in the league.
Assumption is back in action on October 5th at Southern New Hampshire University. The match will begin at 7 p.m. in Manchester, N.H.
