Box Score Worcester, Mass. (October 22) -- The Assumption College women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 final to No. 8 American International College at the Multi-Sport Stadium on Tuesday night.
Assumption is now 6-3-4 overall and sits at 4-3-4 in Northeast-10 Conference play while American International improved to 12-1-1 on the season with the win and is now 9-1-1 in league action.
The Greyhounds fell behind by two goals at the half as Roxy Lee-Stewart and Alie Fitzsimmons struck in the first thirty minutes to give the Yellow Jackets an advantage heading into the half. The Yellow Jackets added two second half goals on the way to the 4-0 final.
Junior Rachel Edgin (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) continued her outstanding season, making 12 saves in the loss for the Greyhounds, including numerous difficult saves that kept the score within reach. Sam Tabak made two saves in a shutout for AIC.
The Greyhounds will return to action on October 26th against Saint Anselm College. The match will begin at 3 p.m. at the Multi-Sport Stadium in Worcester, Mass.
